End of Semester Approaching

The Fall semester has gone by quickly and most of us are already registering for Spring Term.  It's my hope that students are able to get the classes they need in the semester they need them.  It's very important to follow the degree plan as much as possible, because the number of classes and time availability slots are very slim as you move closer to graduation.  If you are in a BAS program be very conscience of what classes are available in which semesters as they do not offer every class every semester.

Jobs for Graduates

Some of my classmates and I have been discussing job opportunities upon graduation this year.  These opportunities are not usually going to come to you, you have to get out there and forge your way.  One great thing to get involved with is a student chapter of your professional group at the college.  This gives you exposure to meeting people and attending events in your chosen field. The college recently offered a leadership summit "Be A Leader" free of charge.  Attending these type events offered at the college is another way to get out and network.  One of the breakout sessions offered was "Building  your Portfolio", this session focused on providing tips and strategies on building a strong portfolio that best accentuates what you have to offer a potential employer.  Your professional portfolio highlights and showcases examples of your best work, life experiences, values, and achievements.  In my next post I will give you some links to create your own ePortfolio.

Are you Curious about Project Management?

When people ask what are you getting your degree in and I say "Project Management", they almost always say, "what is that and what kind of jobs do you get with that degree".  Project management is in your life everyday, it brings your children to school on a bus and it protects you, your family and country everyday.  Project management takes a goal and vision and brings it to realization. Project Managers plan, organize, lead and control projects found in almost every industry including, health care, information technology, construction, aerospace and defense.

The Student

Hello!  My name is Cindy, I'm currently a student pursuing my degree in Project Management.  My education has been a long drawn out process.  I started taking classes back in the early 90's and just returned to college again in 2014.  I'm currently a senior and looking forward to graduation and new employment in the field of Project Management.
